iPhone developer sidesteps App Store to sell ban'd Podcaster

Apple rejected the Podcaster app for competing with iTunes. But it seems the developer has used Apple's "Ad Hoc" service to begin distributing the software despite the fact that they blocked it from the App Store. How about a legal download app to bypass App Store permanently?
