Taiwan-based Elan Microelectronics is suing Apple, Inc., claiming the touchscreen technology used in Apple's MacBook, iPhone and iPod touch infringe on Elan's finger-detecting technology. Apple recently sued Palm for using multi-touch technology in the Palm Pre smartphone. Elan previously sued Synaptics for using touchpads.
